The interior of the synagogue is majestic and its size impressive. There's very little else like it in the world. It was pricey, including the additional charge to take photos. More

I didn't go inside as I disagree to pay money to go to a synagogue when other churches you visit are free. But I understand the business aspect as well. The synagogue in Budapest is the most ornate synagogue I have ever seen! It is really dazzling and huge, and it is interesting to see a synagogue of this size. It's special and fascinating to see such a beautiful synagogue in eastern Europe and is definitely worth a stop. More

That memorial tree in the courtyard is amazing and, again, quiet sobering and very touching. More

Very impressive, a real must! We took the guided tour which was very informative not only about the place itself but also about Jewish history in Budapest. My visit wouldn’t have been the same without the tour. Opens at 10:00. More

We were very interested in the history of the Jewish quarter and synagogue and so we got tickets for the synagogue and Jewish museum. The staff were unhelpful - did not explain that the museum closed at 4.30pm (we arrived at 4pm), thankfully we figured it out. The museum was manned by a scruffy man - we thought he was... More

For me it was very interesting to see a cementary beside a Jewish Synagogue, I found the answer inside. Very interesting site. More

The docent was very knowledgeable. We received terrific information about WWII and the destruction of this Synagogue. Everyone who visits Budapest needs to start here. More
