We had a great experience. I had the mine wine experience and my friend the six. The host was very informative and all the wines excellent, we were given little scones as nibbles and a carafe of water also. You need to pay cash so if you intend to buy wine as well make sure you take enough with you

This cellar is situated in the castle district in a cellar beneath the Hilton hotel. We booked for the wine tasting and dinner. Wine tasting was great but dinner (other than the cheese) was very poor and cheap, we had a HUGE plateful of dumpling type stuff with paprika chicken in the middle, the chicken wasnt quite cooked all through... My sister and I had a wonderful time at the faust wine cellar on castle hill! We tasted five hungarian wines (plus a sixth of our choice) for the good price of 18 euros (or 5000 korints). The wines were very good, and the host provided short and sweet (but informative) explanations about the wines, their makers, and the regions.... More

If you ate at all interested in tasting wines this is an experience not to miss. They have gathered a sample of Hungarian wines that expose you to a wide variety of different Hungarian wines, using their contacts and wine knowledge, that you would be hard pressed to replicate without a substantial amount of time. Each wine is served in... More

Me and my boyfriend attended red wine lovers wine tasting. We are not great connoisseurs - we do drink a lot of wine which is rather quality, vintage wine but we don't usually buy very expensive types & do not claim to be really knowledgeable about wine in general. During the whole event we were served 8 wines + 9th... More

Entrance is through the Hilton Hotel and wine tasting is in a cool `cave` under the hotel. Gabor and his wife were great hosts: very informative and witty and it was a fun event. We spent over 2 hours sampling 8 wines and for our `callback wines` we chose a `serious` red wine and a 1974 sweet wine which were... More

Gabor is the perfect host, very attentive and so knowledgeable about all of the wines. We had the local wine tasting menu and it semed that Gabor had personal dealings with all of the vineyards himself. Beautiful setting, it was a little chilly as it was winter, but blankets were supplied. In case anyone gets lost - it is in... More

My husband and I visited Faust Wine Cellar in order to learn more about and try Hungarian Palinka. First, the location of the Faust Wine Cellar is not to miss; it is located in the cellar of the Hilton Hotel. However, you never feel like you are in a hotel. The wine cellar itself is small and makes you feel... More

We got a bit lost trying to find the cellar (i admit the view was hard to get away from!) and even though we arrived 20 minutes late they had saved the table for us. Gabor and his wife were so friendly and welcoming and the entire experience was absolutely amazing! Each wine had a story and was presented perfectly.... More

Romantic old wine cellar. A must if you want to learn about small production Hungarian wines. We had the flight of 9 wines and it was a great 2.5 hours or so of enjoying and learning about the various wines and regions of wine in Hungary. Very welcoming hosts. You also have the option of purchasing numerous bottles of wine... More
