According to history, shoemakers were located around this bridge and tried to sell their products. The bridge was originally meant to have a roof, thus the pillars build on both sides, but it was never materialised. Quite interesting

The bridge itself isn't really anything special, but the dozens of shoes strung up along the entrance to the road at the end is quirky and cool. The whole riverside area is generally very nice.

Crossing this nice little bridge takes far from everyday troubles. Sharing a nice views of Prešernov trg, Castle, Old town....

A bridge on Ljubljanica river, bridging the gap on the flowing river, connecting two sides of this wonderful town. The name is augmented by a cable line with hanging shoes, and is really a nice sight to see and take a few pics.

And lots of bars and restaurants. Go to stroll down the river Ljubljanica, each time of the year there are lots of tourists. especially when it is sunny, everyone sits outside with coffee. Mediteranial feeling, endeed

I visited this place on a sunny spring day and it was beautiful. Street musicians playing and singing by the side on this bridge, young people gathered around, laughing, nice shops with handmade stuff if you head down the river bank.. it's just really nice.

It has been a place for young. There was a good shoe maker where I ordered my shoes. But it was 40 years ago. Now you can see many old shoes and sneakers hanging between two buildings. Nice place to have a walk.

You will know you're on the bridge when you see the shoes hanging up. But that's about all there is to it.
