On a hot afternoon, this was a great place to visit. It is very pretty and we even found a spot to jump in. It was like an ice bath!
We did this on a Saturday morning with our 2 small children (ages 4 & 2). We really enjoyed all of the views, cool breeze throughout the gorge, and the kids even enjoyed it. There is a small snack place at the end with ice cream, coffee, and drinks (big hit for the kids). Don't bring a stroller, it's very... More
A beautiful walk along a river with crystal clear water and waterfalls. it's an easy walk but wouldn't recommend a buggy as although the wooden bits are fine there are some rough bits and steps. We saw a couple of people emerging from a swim in one place although it's not a common activity and is presumably pretty cold (we... More
We visited that place in mid August and we really loved it. It's only 5-7 minutes ride by car from Bled. You park (for free) and the entrance to the parc is just there. It's super easy walk, you actually don't even need any special shoes. It's busy but still very enjoyable. Views are fantastic and shadow is comforting during... More
If you don't want to walk miles from Bled you can park at one end of the gorge. It is just a beautiful walk along an Alpine gorge, with lots of pools and waterfalls
Vintgar Gorge is a lovely place to walk. The scenery is spectacular. At the end of the walk on the way back to Bled there is a lovely restaurant with a good view back down towards Bled. A good place to sit with a beer.
If you stay in Bled, do not forget to visit soteska Vintgar (the Vintgar gorge). It is about 4 km far from the city, so you can go through some villages and hills. Vintgar itself is a wonderful place - river hidden among rocks, green trees and boulders. The water is crystal clear and the climate refreshing :-)
Vintgar Gorge is a 4 km stroll (2 km out and back) through a shaded narrow canyon along a wooden walkway granting you spectacular views of crystal clear pools and water falls. It was 35c in the day we did the gorge. Inside, it felt at least 10c cooler. Kids were not as enthused as we were, but did enjoy... More
