If you aren't catholic or you don't want to become it, better don't go. This is the most religious site in Poland. People go there to pray, pray and pray. It is also nice to see the picture and its different dresses and the museum. The new baroque church will be something extraordinary. It can be already visited even if... More

Europe is full of history, much us American's never had the opportunity to learn in school. Here is a chance to become aware of such a fascinating bit of history that is every bit as important to travelers as it is to locals. Go soon though as exhibits like this will start pulling back much like the Liberty Bell in... More

Went there for several hourse with my wife a friend priest who helped us understand the history. When we arrived, parts of the Church from the inside were being repaired, which is a great thing because walking around it from the outside you could see that it still needs more repair. When we arrived at the Black Madonna icon, there... More

That's so beautiful and full of history that I would come back again. There you can really understand why polish people are HERO! There is a mix of religion, faith, hope and desire to rebuild this place after each intrusion attempts. I didn't like the self service in the parking lot. In the other side you can get a great... We stopped by here with a tour group, otherwise I wouldn't have came here. A priest ushered us around and droned on and on . Due to his accent, we caught ever 3rd or 4th word or so. I took some photographs but found it quite boring. You haven't missed anything if you don't make it here. It sure wasn't... More

Go by train. It is a good trip - quite long, but cheap. The Dworzek Glowny (pr Dvorjek Gwovny) is the name of the station in Polish. Buying the tickets is separated from the real station which stands in the New Market Place by KRAKOWA. It takes a couple of hours but you get to see the primitive farming of... More

Knowing a bit about Polish history, we knew that the Black Madonna was a special thing to see so we wanted to include it during our trip to the Krakow area. We had a driver take us to Czestochowa on a Sunday morning (approx 1 hour from Krakow) Holy cow! It was like a zoo with people streaming everywhere and... More
