Nice bit of history and some good artifacts in here. Easily worth the small entrance fee. My main gripe with these Museums in Gdansk is you could not move without someone blatantly following you. When the Poles got rid of the secret Police they must of employed them in the Museums to keep an eye on those pesky tourists.

Old city hall made museum. Three floors or so. Discounts for students. Cheap entrance fee, around 5 zl. Many rooms were overloaded with decorations from the time the building was in use. Loads of pictures from ww2 where the city looks completely destroyed. Also a collection of banknotes from different moments in the city's history. Almost one person in each... More

This is a small but beautifully building/museum. It took us by surprise as it is not heavily advertised. Together with the Soldarity museum this is a must see in beautiful Gdansk.

The building is a compliment to the hard work put in to build the old city centre. The individual sections of the exhibition are very well displayed but we felt that we needed more of the historic background ( e.g. the land grabs throughout history by neighbouring powers, the 'free state'? the influence of the Hanse League etc.)

Another beautifully restored historic building. The Old Town is really charming and any building in the area is worth looking at.

The town hall was conveniently located at Długa street, close to our hotel. We visited this attraction mostly to go up to the viewing tower. On our way there, we passed some nice rooms and halls. The main exhibition at the time was something about Polish olympians. A disappointment with the exhibitions overall was the lack of information, even in... More

Although, closed on Monday's, every half hour tours of 50 people are allowed in to see the exquisite chambers and civic reception rooms. The ceiling is particularly stunning in one of the rooms. Only takes 15-20 minutes, as their is not a great deal to see, but for nowt it's OK.

In this typical red brick building you can get information about cultural events taking place in the wide area.

Follow the trail into the tower and don't forget to look at the pictures of Gdansk post world war II. This facinating glimpse of the past will give all students of history something to think about - especially the fact that most of Gdansk was nothing but a pile of bricks by May 1945.
