I was disappointed with this experience as there is really nothing to see in the castle - you actually cant go inside - so you can just walk around and we could look around from a tower. Btw the food and beverage was very pricey....

Considering other castles of Moravia and Bohemia, this is just an average castle as far as the buildings are concerned. But the environs are really nice, boat trip to the castle (from Brno) is definitely recommended, and they sometimes sell very nice Moravian wines at a castle shop.

Old castle that had been very well reconstructed over the recent years basically out of ruin, located in beautiful countryside around Brno with possibilities of nice walks and cycling trips. There's a lot to see at this castle, including a museum, sights of the area around it and mainly special events that are going on from time to time.

The boat trip was lovely, we enjoyed the scenery very much. We watched nature in all it's forms, fishing for carps, naturistic sunbathing, families enjoying...

Castle still needs lots of money. Trail from ship port is nice. Coming on bicycle is quite dangerous as road is narrow and with lots of traffic. Path on the opposite side of the lake is suitable only for MTB as some parts are very steep and narrow. Public transport is frequent and stop is near the entrance.
Its not directly at Brno downtown, but its really one day trip. The best way for us is take tram or any other public transport or taxi to boat station in Brno dam, sometime called "Prygl". Buy ticket to station "Hrad Veveri - Castle Veveri" and from this station its about 20 min walk by very nice part of nature...
