We wanted to see an opera and we figured what better place than an old European opera house (it looks old anyway). All the ornate gold decorating and detail. It was an Italian opera, but they did have the scenes in subtitles to keep you informed of what was happening. This was an amazing experience. We went on a Sunday... More

I will ignore the show, but the building itself is very beautiful. You can get a very cheap tickets on 2nd balkony but don't select those at the edges, there are simply no room for legs.

I went on line and brought the tickets beforehand - make sure you click the 'buy' option to pay by card and print at home! - reserve is for reserving the seats and paying by cash up to midnight the night before the performance in person - nearly got caught out as we were arriving Saturday for the Saturday evening... One of the greatest experiences in Pragues was the Opera Turandot by Puccini. Amazing decor, the best music and the opera singers, absolutely amazing. A night to remember!

Went to the opera to see an opera but they had ballet on instead - and it was wonderful. We saw a ballet in St Petersburg and were very disappointed - but this was amazing. The music, the dancing, the building itself all combined to make a fantastic evening - recommend it to anyone.

A very lacklustre performance of La Boheme. Ubhappily it confirmed my previous experience of the State Opera's productions of ten years ago. I was hoping for something better from the director, who is an extremely talented musician in his own writer.

We saw Turandot at the State Opera. The inside of this building was incredibly beautiful and worth the visit on it's own. The opera company was loaded with talent and it was so beautiful to watch.

During my stay in Prague, I attended the Turandot by Puccini opera. The music and the orchestra were just divine. The building itself is stunning with impressive art ceelings.

Since there is no option to rate the tour separate from going to an opera here this review only is about the guided day tour of the building. In a nutshell, don't do it, if you want to see the interior it's probably no more expensive to just get tickets for the opera itself. The tour is rather disorganized, the... More

The State Opera is yet another amazingly stunning cultural icon of the Czech Republic and Prague in particular. It is located near the main railroad station and like the national Theater it's joy and wonder lies inside. We saw Turnadot at the theater and had box seats on the second level. the box seats have chairs in them so if... More
