I went to see the Castle with it's old architecture and surrounding buildings beautifully decorated.There are lots of hidden sites to see there also.

a core area of interest in prague, the most important and one of the oldest churches of prague, the old royal palace, the lobkowicz palace and museum, the national gallery are here. the Loreto sacred place is nearby.

Allow a full day here as there is so much to do. The castle, beautiful gardens and art galleries. Leave time to wander slowly back down to the city centre on foot if you can as it takes you through some amazing scenery and places such as Golden Lane.

We spent the best part of a day here, lots of grand buildings and the magnificent cathedral, but we loved the little houses on Golden Lane, such a contrast. A fun way of getting there from the Old Town Square is the little tourist train.

Many important monuments are very close together, packed. The most beautiful is the cathedral with splendid glass panels. It was finished in 1929 , 4 centuries after they started to build it.

The castle complex was fascinating. great architecture and a look into historic Prague. great views of the city.

Once up top, I didn't see magnificent castles like I thought I saw in the distance. Maybe I didn't look around well enough or maybe once I got there I was too close to see everything I saw far away. Take a day to walk up to the castle and enjoy the surrounding areas. It is different from the Old Town and the views from on high are spendid.
