Wandering down the lane way just off the Charles bridge , immersed in everything fabulously old, look to your right through an arch and you might see , four massively over scaled firearms pointed at each other. Welcome to a genuine Museum of Modern Art beautifully juxtaposed in a crumbling Hapsburg Mansion. This is what the youth of Czech Republic... More

This is definitely not for everyone. There are a few large pieces in the courtyard that you can see without paying the admission fee. My husband found this very interesting. Most of the works seemed to be by students, a few pieces by faculty. I found only a few pieces of interest, and the rest to be pretty much amateurish... More

I went there like many others when Part C of the exhibit was under construction so we could only visit A & B. The building is not in excellent condition but the whole point of the Museum is that it is used as an oppertunity for young unkown and unpaid artists to have a space to present their works without... Save your money. The best part of this exhibition are David Cerny's Handguns outside, which is free to see. Pretty much every other piece in this gallery (if you can call a disued squat of a building a gallery) is poorly displayed, poorly signed, dreadfully executed and sparse to say the least. As one other reviewer put it, this is... More

I generally enjoy contemporary art -having enjoyed the excellent Kampa Museum earlier in the day we expected something of equal quality - the David Cerny guns in the courtyard looked interesting, and we thought this museum would also be worth a visit - how wrong we were. At 4pm it was getting dark outside, and it soon became apparent that... More

I discovered by Luck Walking around Praga and it was a great surprise. The building itself its a contemporary art and shows you bad how the communist regime trate the culture and the fine arts. It's grate that they conserve the rooms as they found after communist fall. I think the young artist are still influenced with the communist culture... More

Contemporary art is challenging and innovative. It represents thinking out of the box, being creative and mastering the materials of an art piece. Installations or more formal expressions of sculpture and painting can surprise and involve the viewer. I was looking forward to see creative expressions at the AMoYA exhibit, and I was deeply disappointed and deceived. Except for a... More

Yes this is a mixture of the good and the not so good. My husband and I enjoyed the hour or so we spent exploring this museum. I say exploring because half the time we didn't know what rooms were exhibits and what rooms were actually just bathrooms! A far stretch from some of museums which operate more of a... More

Amoya was inspiring, though I suspect only for a certain demographic. I am a college student and really enjoyed the museum. Much of the work seems to be Czech students', making it a very intimate experience. There are some crazy and eccentric collections there. Yes, some of them are rather depressing, but especially paired with the architecture of the place,... More

We went to visit the museum and it was totally waste of time and money. We are 4 friends, all around 46 years old. We have never seen anything like this. Total waste of time!!!
