I rated this as a 5-star attraction purely because of the penguin parade. We visited in May and the penguin attraction was one of the highlights of our trip to Australia – definitely worth the trip to Phillip Island alone… If you are going in the winter months then make sure you take enough clothing as the temperature drops considerably... When in Victoria don't miss out on a visit to Phillip island nature park wildlife park and of course penguins this is definitely a must. The beaches are amazing for any water activities surfing boating and walking along the beaches is a real treat. Take the walk from the boat ramp to the pier in cowes along the shoreline very... More

We were told by other travelers it was worth it to "upgrade" to the better viewing area. We did but I don't feel it was worth the extra money (unless you are a die hard penguin lover I guess). At dusk, the penguins come in and very quickly afterwards, everyone leaves the stands and goes along the boardwalks to see... More

Cute little penguins :) We waited for a long time and I was really shivering because it's quite cold but... it's worth the wait :) It really is amazing to see them walking back in groups to their burrows. How I wish I could bring them home :) Note: Cameras are not allowed as they can disturb the penguins. Suggestion:... More

It was a wonderful experience. At dusk, Penguins first gather in groups in shallow water on the coast and emerge out in groups on the beach as a defensive measure. They brave the Seagulls which are still present in small numbers and trudge towards their burrows. They cross the rocks and go up a long way up-to their respective homes... More

Not a cheap outing for a family, but we were all entranced by the Little Penguins as they tottered out of the sea, got knocked over, and faced off with the sea gulls! I doubt we even saw 100, but I still think it was worth it - just. If you go, make sure you take several extra layers -... More

I feel terrible for those penguins. It's an absolute travesty that 2000-3000 tickets are sold every night. It should be more like a couple of hundred tickets. I fully understand that ticket sales generate much needed income for not-for-profit organisations in order to protect wildlife such as the little penguins but when there are are so many tourists that you... A fair drive from Melbourne was not worth the visit. The Penguins are just not around. Possibly it was the long summer days that kept them away. The few Koala's in the park are certainly nice to see although the zoo atmosphere is prevalent. The beach and cliff's are nice but i wouldn't take the trip just for that.

When I entered the Penguin Parade Area, it seemed I entered into the Jurassic Park Movie :) Truly amazing... environment preserved so nicely... when you walk the decks on the island, its an amazing sight. Kangaroos in open, Penguins roaming around their nests, feels like a different world :) Warning: People! Photography is strictly prohibited around the penguin habitats. Please... More

We made a long trek to Phillip Island to see the Fairy Penguins (or Little Penguins as they are officially called). By the very nature of these birds they only come out of the ocean at dusk and there is supposed to be a "parade". However nowadays you are not allowed to take any pictures of these birds as they...
