went to the red rock, it is very high, but had a beautiful view, over colac and suround.it is so dry down there. More

A beautiful and interesting rock formation of a dormant volcano site. Can view from 2 lookouts and both worth it! Got beautiful pictures. Was an overcast day but still the sweeping views were very impressive. We got an info brochure from the info centre day before and it explained how the volcano came to be and answers the q's u... Enjoyed the drive up the hill to the view the many volcano mounds, information boards explain the geological history of the view you can see Lake Corangamite - Australia's largest and permanent inland salt lake in the background. Worth the 12 km diverson More

This geological formation is north of Colac. I found it only mildly interesting, probably because I am not a geologist. It is well known locally, but would have poor recognition in Melbourne. There is no public transport (other than a train to Colac and then an expensive taxi) to reach it. I wouldn't put it on a 'must visit' list,... More
