I was a bit scheptic about the tour beforehand, as I didn't expect to see the penguins either too many or too close. But, as soon as the guide focused his torch towards the beach I couldn't beleive it: it was plenty of cute penguins trying to reach their nests besides us ! And not only that, we continued walking... we did the philip island penguin tour back in 2009 and it was good. but we taught this one was less commercial and better ... we were in small groups and got close to the penguins and there babys. the only bad thing was after all this cutiness... on our way home it was a penguin dead on the road... The guide was extremely knowledgeable about these penguins and it was very interesting to hear him talk. More

Well exceeded our expectations probably upwards of 70 penguins. Really good information from the guide, the pengions waalked over our shoes and through our legs, heaps of them mostly in pairs all looking for their burrows. Beautiful evening not cold, even were shown them in their breeding boxes. The closest we have ever been to these beautiful fairy penguins, all... More

If they know that the mating season is over and hat there are hardly any penguins. Why go out? There were too many people in the group and our guide was very reluctant to shine a torch where a penguin could possibly be seen. Couldn't hear him talking and very inconsiderate to the elderly. More

It was claimed that 100 penguins can be seen in January, but we only managed to see less than 10. The service is good and the tour is informative; however can't help feeling disappointed because it is far from our expectations. Put on thick coats! It is really chilly even though it is summer. More

This was a fun way to spend our night in Bicheno, and it provided us with a rare glimpse into how the penguins live in their natural habitat. This isn't a flashy tourist-driven production, it is simply a guided walk through the foreshore of Bicheno where the penguins live. It is a treat to see the penguins come up out... More

SOOOOOO cute and informative. A great wildlife experience and we have a much better appreciation of these little delights. To see them massing in numbers at the waters edge at nightfall before making a run for their nests is great. Then the waddling and sqawking begins. Do this please . you will not be sorry. More
