We had a lovelly day on the Derwent Hunter. We met some really nice ppl from different origins and ages. The snorkeling was good and the crew was very good too.

Unfortunately the weather starting out wasn't great but the crew were fantastic and kept us entertained out to our first snorkel site which was great for seeing beautiful coral and a large variety of fishes. The second site was just as good being able to see four green sea turtles. The lunch provided was top-notch. They encourage you to help...

Wonderful day! Not a lot of wind for sailing but you can't complain about something you can't control and the crew made it such a great day it wasn't a problem. Lovely well kept old sailing ship. Food was ample and very nice.
Started on an overcast day but then the sun came out and we had a great time. Friendly crew (Kiwi Dans (2) and Dave) with excellent snorkelling sites, good food and got the opportunity to help put some sails up and down which was a lot of fun.
As a couple of "Grey Nomads" we decided to go cruising with the "Three D's",,Dave, the skipper.two Dans as deck hands and Louise, our lady chef for the day.
We had a great day of sailing under a blue sky with a gentle breeze, helped raise the sails and enjoyed the peaceful quietness of being under sail.
The snorkeling was great...

I recently went out on a day trip on the Derwent Hunter. The weather was stormy, but it made for an exciting day on the water with some great sailing. The crew were absolutely fantastic, Dave, Dan, Ano and Laura really made the trip for me- they were enthusiastic, helpful and their jokes were hilarious!! Tall Ship Adventures should be...

We had the most fantastic day out on the Derwent Hunter. The boat, staff, locations, and food were all brilliant. I can't recommend this enough. Just an amazing experience, with everthing done perfectly. A big well done to the staff and owners.
Sailing was great - could really gain an appreciation for old wooden boats. Snorkelling was ok - visibility was quite poor due to turbid water (approx 1.5m), only saw small fish, coral not brightly coloured and a lot of bleaching occurring. Food was tasty and fresh, with good options for vegetarians. A bit expensive (although I'm not familiar with general...

The day trip on the Derwent Hunter was excillerating. The crew were friendly, helpful and eco conscious. Food was generous, catering for all dietary requirements. This was a great introduction to sailing, where appropriate the crew saught help with raising and lowering the sails. My husband defiantly won the wet t-shirt competition. Recommended for sailing novices to whitsundays.....
Everything about our day on the Derwent Hunter tall ship was really good. The staff were a lot of fun and knowledgeable, the food was really good, loved helping with the sails and the weather on our day out was perfect. A personal comment which certainly didn't spoil the day was that I hate cask wine ... mind you that...
