A couple of weeks ago I went on a 3 day/night trip on the Solway Lass. It's a beautiful boat and the scenery is amazing, naturally I enjoyed it a lot! I chuckled reading the last reviewers comments on Brendon - I found him a bit rude and unhelpful as well, but apart from that the crew were all awesome.... More

I went on a sailing trip with Solway Lass for 3 days and 3 nights. And it literally salvaged my holiday! Hit with rain all down the east coast I turned up to Airlie beach in a somewhat sombre maner. I wasn't looking for a party boat and the booking agent recommended this tour. The boat is beautiful and the... More

Spent 3 days and nights on the 'Lass' . What an experience! Great crew, lots of fun and who made the whole thing wildly enjoyable. We had somewhat mixed weather which was in some respects a relief since we did not have to contend with too much hot sun but nonetheless the variety meant that when the sails went up... More

I just returned from a 3-day/night sailing trip on the Solway Lass. The crew is great! The vessel very special and spacious during the rain squalls that appeared sporadically. They made my birthday a wonderful an memorable event. Highly recommend.

Solway Lass is a beautiful boat with a wonderfully friendly and helpful crew. When the weather is kind the scenes that you witness become the backdrop to your dreams. Sky of the prettiest blue making the water on Whitehaven beach several shades of turquoise against the pure whiteness of the sand.We were lucky enough to see a gorgeous sunset too.Wildlife... More

We went on a sailing trip with Solway Lass for 3 days and 3 nights. We got a special offer with a very nice discount because we booked at the same day that the trip started. We had booked a 3 day sail on the Solway Lass through Explore Whitsundays but unfortunately Cyclone Oswald intervened. We left Airlie Beach on a Tuesday in threatening weather, managed to get to Whitehaven Beach by Wednesday morning but had to return to port that afternoon due to predictions threatening gale force winds. The captain and crew did a superb... More

When we had to miss our January 2011 Solway Lass trip due to the Queensland flooding Explore Whitsundays was kind enough to give us a two year extension on our trip. We booked the Christmas Eve 2012 departure for a three night cruise of the Whitsundays on the Solway Lass. A combination of a good group of fellow passengers, great... More

Beautiful boat, interesting if slightly crazy deck hands which added to the atmosphere, good food and plenty of it. Beautiful scenery. Only negative, the most beautiful section of Whitehaven beach was inaccessible really, we still got to the beach but not the section everybody takes photos of! We got photos of it, but didn't get down onto it. Other tourists... More

This is a MUST DO if you are looking for an adventure on sea. This beautiful old tall sailing ship, with very knowledgable and friendly crew, has made this trip one of the highlights on my Australian tour!
