We took a helicopter from Hamilton to Whitehaven, which included a picnic lunch on the beach. It was just fantastic.
We had a great guide who was very safe & knowledgeable. Providing us with information about the surrounding area & what we could see from the chopper.
The lunch was a lovely salad roll with fruit & sweet treats also....

If you choose to eat your food under one of the trees lining the beach, look out for the metre long Lizard that turns up wanting to share your food. He is very tame and where else in the world are you going to be able to do this and enjoy a fantastic?

Beautifully looked after picnic grounds. Plenty of shade, lovely walk, and a rather nice beach. The Airlie council really looks after their patch of paradise.

We went on the Fantasea Whitehaven Beach Experience - baiscally a ferry with a burger and 90 minutes on a cold and crowded beach.
Although the sun was shining when we left and was about 21 degrees, by the time we got the the beach - about an hour, it was overcast and then started to rain, but you couldn't...
