We planned to visit Ayers Rock in 2002. A tour agent suggested that we sign up for the Sounds of Silence dinner while there. After watching the sun set on the rock and seeing a full moon rise, we went to an area set up with tables in white tablecloths and had a 3-course dinner, with many dishes available to... More

We were dropped off at the rock at 10am and the bus was returning at 1pm. We walked around the base of the rock enjoying the views and took our time. Take plenty of water we had 1litre each and ran out before we reached the half way point. Half way and where we were dropped off there was a... More

We were in Ayers Rock and Uluru and although we enjoyed it all we found it very expensive. They have a captive audience in the middle of a desert and so everything is costly. When we arrived we hadn't arranged anything although I knew that tours get booked. My husband wanted to wait and see when we got there. Having... More

We flew from Cairns to Ayers Rock (Uluru). Unbelivable landing seeing the Rock and the red desert. Always wanted to see Australia and now 1 day after my 60th B'day We're here. Airport is small 1 runway,1 ticket counter, 1 baggage claim, 1 bathroom. Couldn't hae been any easier. Stayed at the Desert Gardens Hotel. Very nice rooms and hotel.... More

Its all well to go to these places yourself, but we found that having a guide made the experience greater. More

This walk is best done at sunrise. You will see the colors of the Rock change before your eyes. There are camel tours available at sunrise on this trail. From the Mala walk you will start your journey. The trail takes about 1.4 hours and is a curved but flat path around the Rock. The path deviates from the Rock... More

It was difficult getting up so early but worth it. We combined the walk with Uluru at sunrise and it was magical. The walk was led by a guide who was excellent, so we really enjoyed to two walks. The walking was not demanding and at that time in the morning it was not too hot. More

Lots of good information from the guide, able to walk quite a way around the rock, and see it from different angles. The paths were quite easy to walk on and many plants bordering the walk were labelled - an interesting experience. More

We did the Rock Base Tour combined with the Sunset tour. It included two base walks, one of about 30 minutes and the other about 45 minutes. It was hot, hot, hot (around 40 degrees) so not for the faint-hearted (or anyone prone to fainting!). But it was so worth it. The guide was very good and explained all about... More

My wife and I arrived by Quantas flight from Perth (12.25pm) at Alice springs(4.40pm) on 13th Feb 2012 at A$208pp. We took the airport bus to Diplomat Motel where we put up a night before the tour next morning. We have booked the one day tour to Uluru (Ayers Rock) on 14th Feb 2012 with Emurun Tour by email before... More
