Spectacular isn't really a good enough word for this wonderful place. We cruised along the Gorge while enjoying a lovely lunch. After a short walk we then enjoyed a beautiful fresh fruit desert. The Gorge is incredibly beautiful, with an abundance of wildlife.

Well worth a visit as Katherine Gorge is very tourist friendly. The tour guides on the cruise boats are extremely knowledgable on their surroundings which makes for a very pleasant cruise to the gorge and back. The pathways are very easy to walk even for the elderly and have been very cleverly intergrated into the natural rock. A photographers delight.

We did the 3.00pm two gorge cruise with Jake as our guide - he was really knowledgeable and friendly. The views were fabulous and we enjoyed walking between the two boats along the made footpath in the gorge. A definite highlight of our trip!

Beautiful spot, wonderful for walking and in the dry, would be great for swimming and kayaking. We did a 1.5 hour loop walk climbing to the top of the gorge before walking through the bushland and rock outcrops and back to the car-park. Stunning views!

This was a guided cruise along the gorge with a tourist guide who was knowlegable about the local traditions and rock art. the tour ended with a meal of bush tucker that was most enjoyable. The tranquility was very special, I could have stayed much longer

One of the major attractions for tourists in the "Top End". We stayed at the Nitmiluk National Park Chalets. Nice, neat, tidy and clean. If you are lucky you'll see some of the local wildlife up close. The only downside to the chalets was that they are a bit on the small side....especially the bedrooms and the bathroom. The Nitmiluk... More

We took the Katherine Gorge dinner cruise 6 May 2013 and loved it. It is without doubt one of the highlights of our brief trip to the ‘top end’ and well worth the long distances to get there. We had decided to drive the 300 km plus from Jabiru for this experience, rather than just return to Darwin. A lot... More

Our tour guide took us through the gorge on a flat bottom boat. When we disembarked he gave us a historical talk about the rock paintings and pointed them out to us. The gorge is majestic. Just beautiful.

Our cruise was great, the guide was great with their knowledge of the Gorge and its history, having done this trip before it was still stunning after quiet a number of years.

Took my partner to Nitmiluk (Katherine Gorge) on our trip from Cairns to Darwin, 29 km's from Katherine along a bitumen road. Stayed in the camp ground on powered site. Park is clean, great swimming pool, lots of shade and good amenities. There is a small cafe open near the pool in the camping ground open in the evenings or... More
