I have not travelled to this part of the part for several years. Please review the Local tours that take in the Southern part of stunning Kakadu National Park. Kakadu national park website has itinarys and the dates when open and available. This part of the part is not well known. More

The southern part of Kakadu is indeed stunning – the rockier landscape is breathtaking and it’s a real experience getting away from it all. This area includes Gunlom with its waterfall as well as Yurmikmik, a series of interconnected walks including Boulder Creek walk, Motor Car Falls walk and more – and all providing spectacular opportunities to experience the flora... Quite near Nourlangie, so not far to drive. This is a rather large billabong - pleasant enough spot for a picnic if it's not too hot, and you get an idea of what a billabong is!!! But if you're pushed for time, don't worry if you have to miss it. More

The only drawback in visiting Kakadu is the long drive. You need to stay at least one night in the National Park. More

We recommend visitors stay at Kakadu for at least two or three days to really experience Kakadu’s stunning landscapes. The wetlands, the waterfalls and the walks can all be enjoyed by getting further into the park – the best way to experience Kakadu is to get right off the highway. If you’re here in the dry, make sure you catch... More

I've traveled a lot of places and have seen many beautiful things, but this has to be one of the most amazingly beautiful experiences I've ever had. Walking around this mixture of desert and wetland you get the most breathtaking views of Kakadu National Park. We hiked up a rocky plateau at sunset and I found it to be simply... More

We walked around the Anbangbang Billabong which is about a 3km circuit walk during the dry season. This is quite a good walk with some very nice scenery, ample car parks and views of Nourlangie in this distance and we saw quite a few waterbirds and a wild pig. It is definitely worth taking this walk - although due to... More
