We counted 53 young pups when we first got out our car - then realised there were far more spread along a distance of several hundred metres. They played in the rock pools and heavy seas, waiting on the adult seals to return from their fishing expeditions. No walking - just a great experience at no cost. More

Just driving along the highway we noticed these cool furry creatures moving over the rocks! I was amazed by just how many seals were right beside a major road. Loads of seals to be spotted along the shoreline. You can walk along the rocks to get close up photos but not too close to the seals that are soaking up the sunshine. More

The this where the seals take R&Rs after long time at the sea. Good opportunity to take some zoom shots. Don't forget that they are wild creatures. Hence, be mindful where bringing younglings. More

Visited seal colony at Ohau Point, 36kms from the Fairways. What an amazing experience - hundreds of seals lazing in the sun on rocks and playing in rock pools - just amazing - fabulous! More

Just a 10 minutes drive from Kaikoura: about 30 or 40 seals, some of them really large! Tip: Make sure to climb the hill, the views are fantastic! More
