The bollards are really interesting and tell you a story of Geelong as you walk down the beach. The kids will love the carousel, ferris wheel and all the great playgrounds More

Great place to hang out with family and friends while having a picnic on a beautiful summer day. You'll often see fitness groups doing relays and running stairs when the weather's nice. There are BBQ pits and a few gazebos, complete with a large grassy area in the middle. More

frequently take visitors to the area to check out the bollards around Eastern Beach. The walk anywhere from either Rippleside to near Limeburners is dotted with bollards depicting people of interest over the years. You can do the full walk or just a small area - More

We set aside a morning on our holiday to visit the Geelong waterfront. If only we'd had more time we could have spent all day long there. The beautiful sea baths, the ferris wheel, the amazing fountain, the "pirate ship", the pier and the bollards! It was all so spectacular. We'd read about the bollards and were so impressed that... This is one of the best features of Geelong and all completely free. Redeveloping the Geelong waterfront, and adding in the various pieces of public art, including those wonderfully whimsical series of specially painted bollards representing the history of Geelong, from aboriginals through lifeguards and band members, has to be one of the smartest decisions Geelong ever made. Eastern beach in Geelong is a nice, clean and comfortable stretch of sand that is very close to the city. It faces north into Port Phillip Bay so you get some nice views. To the left as you look out to sea a large yacht club, so the water is full of yachts and boats of all sizes. The beach... More
