At the Bendigo Joss House Temple you will be fascinated by Chinese culture and discover more about the Chinese migrants who came to Bendigo in search of gold in the late 1800s. The Bendigo Joss House Temple - a National Trust listed site - is a Chinese place of worship which was constructed in the late 1860s. It is one of the few remaining buildings of its type in Australia and offers a truly unique and authentic experience thanks to the dedicated volunteer guides who offer tours of the site on a daily basis.

The Joss House is well worth a visit. An historical part of Bendigo, it contains a temple and interesting information about Chinese astrology. Ask the friendly staff to help you find out your Chinese astrology sign. The Joss House is run by volunteers and apparently they are short on volunteers which is a shame. I've been many times with my...
