My 12 yr old daughter and I attended the Treetops Challenge and we had a great time. It was fun, challenging, physically and mentally demanding at times which was exactly what we were after.
Although it was a super hot and busy day (Australia Day long weekend) the Treetops Challenge staff were all so friendly and unfazed.
There was a large group booking of around 70 people in the challenge at the same time as us that had limited, to no English which was quite challenging for the Treetops team but they were able to manage some difficult situations with friendliness, ease and professionalism.
Due to the heat there were numerous participants that needed assistance and water but all I heard from the staff was support for each other and the participants, they were encouraging each and telling other team members how much they appreciated their work. It was so great to overhear and set up a really positive vibe.

Thank you so much for such an awesome review!
We are stoked that you guys found exactly what you were looking for in our challenges. If you are ever looking for a more advanced course, we do have three sites - Mt Tamborine, Currumbin and Sunshine Coast. Currumbin and Sunshine Coast both have a black diamond course which offers a different range of obstacles that will definitely have you questioning your strength!
We appreciate your kinds words about our staff, we will always try and ensure that our climbers feel safe and welcomed and supported and that comes from having a strong supportive team :)
We hope to see you guys back with us soon!

My 2 boys, 12 & 10, had a fabulous time. As a parent we were able to follow them the whole way and join in their successes and excitement. Both boys had such a great time and were exhausted by the end. The guides along the way were helpful and so friendly, they were happy to chat and encourage the kids to keep going and how to complete tasks that were a bit challenging. A really fun and great value for money experience.

We are sorry to hear We are constantly working on improving as a business and as a team so we value every and all feedback that will make future visits with us more enjoyable.
During peak periods, we do tend to book out, and much like theme parks there will be wait times as guests make their way through the course.
Each guest is required to complete each level of difficulty before moving on to the next level to ensure that they are capable of moving up.
To ensure a smooth and flowing session, we do recommend booking for our earlier sessions at 9:00am or 9:30am, as you will be the first groups on course and will limit the amount of people in front of you.
We do hope to see you back with us and hope with this new tip that you have nothing less than an amazing experience.

I took my family to TreeTops Sunshine Coast yesterday. My 11yo and 9yo have ziplined around the world before and were excited to zipline here.
Unfortunately we had a very negative experience yesterday and I hope this feedback below helps so them so TreeTops can improve it for others in the future.
1) Our expectations from the marketing and ads had us believe there was more ziplining than balance challenges. It's quite the opposite. The courses are mostly beams and ropes challenges.
2) The set up for younger children is quite overwhelming and while I agree it's important they learn it's more important they feel empowered. Their staff yelled at so many children for not doing it right. They barked at them and made them feel stupid. In the hour of my group initiation we witnessed three young girls ahead of us (they looked like they were 8-10 yrs) get stuck on the practice zipline as they were too light to make it to the end. Their instructor yelled at them like they did something wrong. Each time, members of the public, myself included had to go help these girls who were visibly shaken, scared and confused. Put an instructor at the end of the zipline to help catch these kids. They are light weight. They can't make it across and after this "practice" zipline they walk away crying to their parents that they don't want to even go into the main circuits. TreeTops did not set these curious young minds up for success. They made them feel awful about themselves and inadequate.
3) So much time is spent on showing us how to use the equipment and how to hold the zipline. Ironically, ZERO time is spent on the thing that consumers 80% of the challenge - balancing across high beams and ropes. Not once were kids given any insights about how to manage the course when their hands can't reach to the steel rope above. These kids are thrown in without warning and huge pressure as the line builds behind them. Adding a practice course for anyone who is new to this type of thing would go a long way to increase the success rate of people completing the course. Half the people in our line completed 1-2 parts of the circuit before needing to turn back.
We have ziplined across mountains that were up far higher than these ziplines and yet no one in my family completed the course because it felt unsafe, chaotic, the kids felt belittled. The first hurdle to any physical challenge is mental preparation. No one in my family felt mentally at ease.
I sincerely hope they revisit their training, the systems in place, the staffing on platforms for young kids doing the zipline and the overall attitude of the staff.
In our experience we have walked away from previous experiences elated, proud, and inspired to challenge ourselves even more. Yesterday we walked away deflated. We saw countless families consoling their children in the parking area and many parents agreed it was the complete opposite of what they had hoped the day would be.

Thank you for your feedback. We sincerely apologise that you did not enjoy your experience with us. We are constantly working on improving as a business and as a team so we value every and all feedback that will make future visits with us more enjoyable.
We apologise for any misleading advertisement. We do try to showcase all aspects of our challenge so our guest have an accurate representation of what to expect when they arrive. We do in some points of our media like to showcase our ziplines a bit more, as we are aware that this will be the most desirable adventure feature for most guests.
We completely agree that all guest of all ages should feel encouraged and supported as they go through our course and we are sorry that this is not what you experienced. We will definitely be addressing this with staff.
Our briefing and safety induction includes everything that you will need to know about participating in the challenge. To go over all aspects of each challenge would add an unnecessary amount of time to the briefing and less time out on the course. All climbers do have to participate in a practice course to familiarise themselves with the carabiner system to make it easier when they are out on the higher circuits.
We understand that smaller children sometimes struggle to make it fully on ziplines, but at no point are they ever in an unsafe position as they are fully attached to the course and our staff have provided assistance and training on how to complete the ziplines successfully.
We would love for you to visit us again, and have nothing less than an amazing experience that I 100% know our team can provide.
If you have anymore queries or concerns please contact us on info@treetopchallenge.com.au and we will be able to help you directly.
Thank you very much and we do hope you have a wonderful day!

What a fantastic activity! The 4WD buggy ride up the mountain got us pumped for the adventure, the ziplines are long and high above the treetops and canyon, the forest views are amazing, the staff Sam and Nicky were professional but also funny, they kept the whole group entertained throughout the tour and 3 hours just flew by, we wished the tour lasted longer. My husband and I will definitely be back!

Get ready to enjoy a fantastic experience, that you just want to keep going!
From the start we knew we were going to have a great time with our guides Sam and Tali. These two were excellent fun, with great energy and looked after us all very well.
The buggy ride to the top was an added bonus - heaps of fun and then the ziplining itself was awesome. The views another added bonus.
Thanks Tali and Sam for making a great experience a fantastic one!!

Hi, if I have only 2 hours for the Treetop Challenge Adventure, is it sufficient ? Could I leave the course halfway ?
Hello!
As The Merry Travellers says you can indeed leave half way. Our recommendation though would be to start in the first morning session to try avoid the crowds! :) Also remember to definitely book.

Hi. Can my 13 y.o. do it alone without accompanying adult? As I can't do zips myself what is the best way to spend 2-3 hours nearby?
Hi Anna,
There will be an adult required to sign in anyone under 18 and there are a numbers of activities depending on which location you visit. At all of our locations there are cafes next to our sign in buildings and a range of other activities. At Tamborine for example there is also Mini Golf, Waterfall Walks.

Hoe does this high ropes course compare to the Thunderbird course at MtTambourine?
Hi Leigh,
Both of our courses at Mt Tamborine and Currumbin provide similar levels of challenge with different scenery. I would recommend looking at our website and watch the videos to get an idea for the different feel between the two.

We recommend allocating at least 3 hours to get through the all of the courses.

How Cani get there from my Gold Coast hotel?
Thanks
Hi there,
Escape shuttles operate a shuttle service from Gold Coast to our Mt Tamborine location. As we can not list contact information here I recommend Googling them.
Our Currumbin location can be accessed via shuttle or public transport from the Gold Coast.

Hi Dianna
We are not too far from Brisbane and we have many people who come from the greater brisbane area. From the centre of Brisbane we are about 50 minutes drive and it's quite easy down the highway before taking exit 38 off the highway.

Hi there, I'll be visiting the area next week, I am visiting friends who work during the week and am looking for activities to do on my own. This looks like a lot of fun but I'm wondering if I would get as much out of it coming on my own? Do you go in groups or is it all just self paced?
Kind Regards
Elisha

Hi Elisha
David from TreeTop Challenge here, Next week we will be running 2 sessions mid-week, 10am and 1:30pm which means you will be with other customers while you are out on course. It is still self paced and you can decide to split up but normally you everyone likes to stay relatively together
Mid-week is a really fun time to come because the days are a little more relaxed and you will get to know your supervisors throughout the day as they are always there to give a bit of inspiration and a helping hand if needed.
