Short,Winding little road, but well worth the drive with stunning views up the coast. Grab a coffee, sit and take it all in!
Tricky name here. Tacking Point is at the north end of Lighthouse Beach in Port Macquarie or 8 minutes drive from Port Macquarie town centre. A stunning building. It is great to drive here with a take-away coffee in the car and marvel at the beautiful ocean, however there are a lot of people who do this so do not... More
The drive to the lighthouse has turnoffs to look at the ocean. Beyond magnificent. The lighthouse is the third oldest in Australia. You walk up the steps to the lighthouse. It's cute and photogenic. But, the surrounding panorama of Pacific Ocean is beyond description. I saw one person sitting enjoying a light lunch enjoying the view. Great idea.
Great spot! Well restored building, amazing view. Lots of history here. Great place for a picnic. Not far from the main streets of town
From the odd cruise ship and container ship to the famous whale watching from June until November. It has beautiful walks around it and spectacular views during the day and worth a visit at full moon.
Went there to see the lighthouse and it has some amazing views of the ocean and the coastal areas. It is incredible to visit and can walk down to the light house beach. See my pics but they don't do much justice ;)
We drove to Lighthouse Beach and Tacking Point Lighthouse although it is also possible to take the local bus. There are steps to the lighthouse but no entry inside. Shame the taggers have also visited! We had a great view of a pod of whales passing.
