Perhaps it was the time of the year, but felt there wasn't a great variety of plants. Walked down from the cablecar on a pleasant day and found the rose garden at the bottom the best part.

We took the cable car to the top & meandered our way through the gardens. We stopped at the playground & had a go on the swings. The signposting was great & we found ourselves in the Lady Norwood Rose Gardens. Though it was mid Autumn, there were still a few delicious roses in bloom. The cemetery beyond the Rose...

Was great to find a beautiful, sprawling gardens in the middle of the city, was just a shame your signage was so bad! We seemed to spend far to much time (over an hour) trying to track down the elusive Treehouse Information Centre. Every sign seemed to point in a general direction and every path we took seemed to guide...

We rode the cable car up to the entrance of the botanical gardens. The view of the city and the harbor at the top is fantastic. There are many paths that lead to different gardens and areas on your way back down to the city. There are nooks and wonderful places to sit and enjoy the surroundings. We saw quite...

We caught the little train up to the gardens and then walked back into town. It was a very enjoyable morning with a tasty breakfast stop in the cafe. I glad we walked from the top down as doing it the other way is very steep. There was some amazing trees and the rose garden was still blooming so it...

We spent half a day at the gardens and it was a good break from the city. We took the tram up the mountain and walked down. The Rose Garden cafe was very good - we had lunch there. The surroundings are lovely.
We took the cable car to the top and enjoyed the view all the way down. People are so friendly and everything was so clean!
Beautiful rose Gardens and lovely greenhouses stocked with a variety of flowers and plants. Loved the orchids and begonias. Lovely walks and love the free shows in the Sound Shell in January - take a picnic and enjoy the music and the park is lit up with coloured lights etc. Café does great food too.
Fantastic tulip display in spring. Great walking trails throughout the gardens. The Begonia House is a highlight with lots more than begonias on display.
Beautiful gardens set high up on the hill which wind down towards the city. The inclines make the walk not for the faint hearted but with plenty of places to stop and rest and a lovely relaxed atmosphere its a great place to spend a sunny afternoon.
