This is an absolute must do on a sunny day with your friends and family. We went to the park and took a picnic with us for the day. I am still nursing bruises from the blob and replaying the day through the videos we took but it has to be one of the funniest days I have ever had....

Awesome time! We went in early fall and had the whole lake and tour to ourselves. Even though it was just my wife and I, they didn't skimp on anything. Mulled wine to sip as the air chilled and we watched the sunset, delicious cheeses and olives and salami, and then an amazing tour with a friendly, informative, fun guide....

What an amazing way to see NZ glow worms! Rang and booked for same day. Husband and I arrived and were greeted by Dave, our guide. We were the only booking so after a short drive to Maclarens Lake, mulled wine, cheese, olives, dip and crackers we set off in our kayaks. After a leisurely 1500m paddle we entered a...

Hi,
Thank you for an absolutely brilliant review. You have summarised our Lake McLaren Glow-worm Kayak Tour beautifully. It is truly a fantastic experience for both Kiwi & International guests with wine, cheese birds, great guides & equipment & thousands of amazing glow-worms. Thanks for taking the time to write your review.

My wife and I went on the evening Glow Worm trip in McClarens Falls Park. The trip was well organised and punctual and the start location was very scenic. There was good instruction on what we would be doing and how to use the equipment and once dusk was upon us the sight of the glow worms was quite amazing....

A superb attraction on the bank of the Wairoa River. Great for all ages. Things to do include jumping off diving boards, kayaking, rope-swinging, rock-climbing and (my favourite) blobbing.
Unless you are immune to the cold, a wetsuit is essential. A camera is also very important, as the the blob can provide many funny (and embarrassing) photo oppurtunities.

We had 2 guides, Sean and Jade who worked for our school today. They could not have done more. They supported the students, paddled the students, made sure that the students were safe and in a safe area. Way to go Waimarino, you continue to provide the best in the Bay of Plenty with kayaking!

We went on a daytrip when our ship docked at Tauranga. Our guide - Tim, was super helpful. The kids had a great time - it was hard to peel them away from the thermal pools and they certainly slept well that night after all the paddling! Thanks for a great experience.
