We walk on this regularly, a great asset for the city as proved by the number of people who take advantage of it. More

What once was a boring industrial area has been transformed into a great walkway along the coast. Childrens playgrounds, realxing places, beautiful views, great architecture of the bridge and beautiful views of the sea and the Mountain. A great walkway for runners, bikers, walkers and little kids alike. More

This is one of the major attractions in New Plymouth. Park at one end and take a leisurely stroll from one end to the other. You can walk, bike, blade, skate or skateboard it. Coffee kiosks along the way. You can hire tanden bikes, suitable for people with mobility carts etc. View some fantastic surf beaches along the way. More

I adored the fact that anybody can do this Walkway - grans, kids, bikes, scooters, skateboards, wheelchairs... Absolutely open flat wide concrete. I love doing the return walk from the Port to the Surf Club, but you can join it anywhere. The view is breathtaking. Cafes along Walkway, always something to see. People everywhere. Solo travellers need not worry; it's... More
