Our guide was superb and we learnt a lot about Maori custom. We also saw a cultural concert and an active geyser. We samples food cooked underground. Delicious.

This was a very interesting guided tour. Excellent if you really want to learn about the Maori Culture. They also put on a small performance which is highly enjoyable to watch. The guides are very passionate and inspiring. Im so glad I did this tour.

My husband and I and our 2 friends did a guided tour of this village, which I would recommend. 3 of us enjoyed it my friends husband was very bored. This is a lived in Maori village full of hot springs and mud pools with good views of the geysers. It was quite expensive for what it was so if...

Quieter than the adjoining thermal park, but enjoyed a more intimate guided tour. Real homes with real people and steam coming from the ground everywhere.

a little dubious to start with, but once got there and had our hangi steamed meal and started exploring all was good. Strongly suggest you take the guided tour to learn more about the site, it's history and the people that still live there today.

our guide "Girlie" (excellent) through the village patiently took their time explaining the history of the village and the geothermal activity of the surrounding area. After the tour we tried the hangi pies and steam pudding....very tasty and went back for seconds.

This was a great tour and the guide was superb too. She was very passionate about her way of life and had the upmost respect for her tribe which i respected.
The tour was just the right length and worth the money, going in to detail with the why, what, who and whens of village life.
