We were picked up by bus at our door for this total experience. Along the way we sang songs and learnt about the culture. We chose a 'chief' who would accepted the piece symbol at the welcoming ceremony. He then would take part in various things throughout the night finishing off with the haka at the end. We had an... I did both the main Cultural Shows in Rotorua, the Tamaki and the Mitai. The Tamaki has smaller number of tourists so feels more personal. Both were very good but I would definately recommend Tamaki as the best Maori show and Hangi in Rotorua. The food is incredible and the bus trip on the way to, and back from Tamaki... More

And we were very happy with our decision. Food was great and plenty of it. Singing voice of one of the girls who sings the love song, while you wait for your food to be prepared, is absolutely outstanding. This experience costs about $105 however it lasts about 4 hours and is worth every dollar. Note: If you book at... More

Kia ora Dear friends On 12th January 2012 we visited the Tamaki Maori Village. Our guide, Terry, picked us up at the All Seasons Holiday park, and immediately made us at home. Sonny was our bus driver, and as result of his influence, I was named “chief” of our group. We shall never forget ”Kia ora”, “te wero”, the “Powhiri”,... More

I couldn't have had more fun at any other show, the bus driver, Darren was really entertaining. He got us all in the mood. Then the welcoming ceremony was spectacular, the village was great, although it was a bit rushed. I understand the time restraints and the pressure to get everything done. To see the Hangi was great and the... More

My husband and I had the best Maori Cultural Experience at the Tamaki Maori Village! If you are in Rotorua, this is a must! Our bus driver, Aroha, was a great host. She made everyone feel welcomed. If you happen to get her as a bus driver, remember to bring your singing voice, and you will have the most fun!... More

We enjoyed this evening, even though we're not really cultural show types! The organisation was excellent - we were picked up and dropped off very close to our accommodation, but had a bit of a wait at the Tamaki offices. The performers throughout were excellent and it was a good, realistic presentation of much of Maori culture. The hangi meal... More
