This absolutely beautiful forest was little mentioned in most tourist information booklets, fortunately our B&B hosts recommended it to us. Go for a walk on the many paths it offers, the trees are so tall, the air is so fresh, the leaves are so green, and it's absolutely free!! You will fall in love with this forest. More

We had a great walk there. The forest is clean, quiet and tourist-friendly with plenty of direction signs. It smells like sulfur in places. There is a really nice gift shop and a lot of parking spaces. And it's free! More

My sister and I had an afternoon to kill near Rotorua and this was the perfect way to spend 3 hours. We hiked up a number of trails and were able to enjoy the beauty of the forest. It would have been awesome to rent bikes and really explore, but walking and climbing still makes for a great afternoon. More
