We enjoyed the various themed gardens, which were discreetly separated from one another by walls & hedges, thereby setting the tone for each. We particularly liked the enviro garden, it gave us lots of ideas for our own home garden. There was nothing we disliked, apart from the constant drizzle for most of our NZ stay. Well done Hamilton! I always enjoy visiting gardens, but this was the first time I was truly impressed by one. The scale of the vegetable garden was unbelievable. What I loved most was the themed gardens. Ff you want a gentle walk around the gardens with or without children, in pushchairs, or a balance bike ,or in a wheelchair this is the place for you. Good in all seasons. be prepared to wander for 2hrs if you have the time. Nice cafe. Just amazing More

I loved Hamilton Gardens, there is something that will appeal to everyone. I liked that every corner you turned there was a new world of gardens. The only thing I didn't like on the day I visited was the rain, it made us leave earlier than we would have liked to. More

I am not surprised by the many high ratings that these gardens have received. They are superb and the recently opened ‘Maori Garden’ further add to this significant attraction. The theme gardens receive most visitors, but there is much to appreciate in the rose garden and on the many pathways that wend their way through the gardens, beside the lake... More

A MUST SEE. A total pleasure to stroll around the gardens. A collection of wonderfully created themed gardens from Chinese to English, Italian to Japanese and lots more, as well as lovely walks. Also really good cafe and restaurant to take advantage of during your visit Don't forget your camera and picnic blanket! Best of all it's completely free. More

Just a great way to spend a few hours, even if you are not into gardens. After moaning and groaning about not wantin to go, our kids loved all the different areas and had a great time! More
