Mt. Eden can be seen from almost anywhere in AKL. It is a dormant volcanic crater that also has significance to the Maori's. You can walk all around, but not into, the crater. Nice views and they also have park representatives at certain vantage points to give you the history of the site. More

You do get some nice views across Auckland. I am sure they would have been a lot better on a clear day .It was very windy and overcast when we were there. More

Take a picnic to the top, and enjoy for free what you would have to pay heaps of money to do at the Sky Tower. Dawn and dusk on a fine day particularly recommended. More

mount eden is a place which doesnt have any activity or adventures there,its only a big plateau to climb up..but when you reach up its heavenly.you get a 360 degree view of auckland and also can see the skytower. go on a clear sunny day..feel the wind blow and the greenery. its also ideal for morning walks! to sum up...a... I have only recently discovered Mt Eden and cannot believe it is not high on everyone's priority to go up here when they visit Auckland. The view is sensational - and free!!! Plus, if you like / need to exercise there are great paths and stairs to climb. More
