Worth a visit, the gardens are absolutely amazing. There are different paths leading different directions. There is lots of history here. Opposite the Auckland University - more lovely buildings and history.

Quaint with lovely tree and views. Nice way to walk between the town and university. There is a rotunda that is a period piece. good place to have a picnic. Venue for the great annual Lantern Festival.

A steep but very worthwhile climb to a well-kept and idyllic city-centre park. Well worth an amble round with extensive flower beds, specimen trees, a floral clock and plenty of statues to view; but if you find one of Prince Albert then you've done better than us!

I finally visited this tranquil oasis within the bustling metropolis that is Auckland. We enjoyed roaming the garden looking and the lovely flower beds, and sculptures. The Auckland Lantern Festival is a must do, so many wonderful lanterns and such a variety of asian food to sample. Miss it at your peril !!!

Getting there by foot can be quite tiring depending from where you go but Albert Park is a very pretty and well-kept place. Go there in summer and lay on the grass in the sun, or go there during spring or autumn to look at the beautiful trees, the colours, flowers, etc. Many students there as Auckland Uni is right... We entered via Kitchener Street. After a steep climb of steps, you enter a very pretty open space with lots of different trees and flowers - very pretty and relaxing. Plenty of photographic opportunities. After the vist to the gardens, you can also visit the Auckland Art Gallery (free entry) where I preferred the artwork of the Victorian period as... More

Great little park. Lots of spring flowers in bloom just now. Some very old, beautiful trees. Would love to see it in another season.
