great restaurants , cafe's and bars. unfortunately its full of undesirables after dark. regularly in the news for the wrong reasons. needs a big clean up starting with the security staff at the pubs ( they cop a flogging thou probably not all their fault. needs more police resources then it will be good again. When visiting Perth, you'll quickly find that the CBD shuts down after dark. Gone downhill over the years, over priced food, to many nightspots that cannot be manned properly. Not a place to be at night. Taxi's even avoid the area. Daytime, okish..... not a lot to do. head to perth CBD instead. More

This is a great area for choices in food and drink. There are numerous places to eat offering many cuisines and a number of hotels to enjoy a few drinks at or a meal. On some occasions there has been some unruly behavior (although I have not witnessed any) in the area so is best to not be there late... More

The area comes alive at night, lots of great little bars and fantastic food in the Chinatown district. Just make sure your accomodation isn't too close to the bars otherwise you're in for a sleepless night! More

This is the most disappointing area in Perth at night - unless you are 18-23 and enjoy getting completely wasted then passing out in a gutter. There are some great restaurants and cool shops to visit in the day but stay away after dark. More
