We didn't go into the Mint, but caught the free shuttle right across the street. Terrific looking building!

This is a really great place to visit. Take the time and go on the tour - a family pass was about $40A. Very informative tour and great to see the gold. The highlight was seeing the gold melted and put into a gold bar. The person that did was really good and I certainly picked up some interesting info...

The place is smack in the middle of Perth. It's a marvelous museum and thoroughly interractive learning center all about the mining history of West Australia, about gold and all other aspects...It's very well-done and Perth can be very proud of it!

You have to pay for a guided tour but look at most stuff yourself. They tell a short story then give a display on pouring molten gold which is good. Other wise you look around the displays yourself.

Awesome attraction - well organised, interesting and informative tour and amazing stash of gold to see.

it cost my husband and i $15 each for entry which gives you access with a tour group around ceratin areas open to the public, the tour lasted about 45 mins and although it was informative, it was much smaller than i had expected and for a $15 fee i had expected a bit more.

There range of products and prices is excellent. As a great coin collector I would reccomend it to other collectors. The museum of gold found in the gold rush was enjoyable worth a look.
