Our collections and exhibitions offer visitors exciting encounters with the art of Western Australia, traditional and contemporary Australian Indigenous art and the art of the world. Entrance is free, donations are welcome. We’re located in the heart of the Perth Cultural Centre and easily accessible from the Perth Train Station.

“Fine exhibition unlovely setting”

This gallery has a great permanent collection and frequently hosts visiting and special displays. It is housed in a colonial era limestone building with sympathetic modern extension and conveniently connected to the train station and CBD. Cafe near the entrance has good food. Shouldn't be missed. More

“Perth galleries”

partly a modern building situated as part of an historic perth law court area . Would like to see more west australian early paintings displayed than current. Always have enjoyed touring exhibitions of many discriptions. More

“Has some great exhibitions..check the program”

The Art Gallery of Western Australia houses a collection of Australian artworks but also holds regular world class visiting exhibitions from throughout the world. It is in the Cultural precinct of Perth and is a nice place to wander. There is a small market outside the Gallery on Sunday mornings and some stall holders have original crafts to sell. The... More

I saaw the Monet exhibit and it was wonderful. I 've seen other special exhibits from time to time. They have school students exhibits around the end of the year so you can view some of the very talented work of these amazing young people. t ale=ways has something of interest to most people and there's a great little gift... “Not a huge collection”

The gallery has some very interesting travelling exhibitions such as the princely treasure exhibition but the galleries do not have a large collection on display at other times. More

The Gallery is situated in the attractive Perth Cultural Area, where several of the city's cultural institutions are located. While I'm not about to comment on the quality of its collection, the buildings in which they are displayed in, especially the old court house, is a great place to meander about. It doesn't even come close to the galleries I visited in New York, and it is not somewhere you can spend a lot of time unless you are an art buff More
