I was walking past and decided for once to drop in to this icon. At 11.55am decided to order a steak sandwich in the bar. Before kitchen opened. Hence first customer of the day. I do not expect to pay $19 and receive a plate which from the moment it landed (smiling positive service) stank in a way only achievable... More

We visited as Mr PugHugger had heard about the rooftop cider bar and we are both cider fans. Granted there were LOTS of ciders on offer and a good variety on tap. We both took the time to try something different and the ciders were quite nice. But the roof top area was exceptionally average. There were smokers everywhere and... More

We came to this bar around midnight. There was 11 of us. 5 guys and 6 girls. When we went to enter the bouncer told an Indian friend with us no backpacks were allowed. We asked if we could leave it behind the bar and he said no. The agenda was obvious. It was not let my friend in because he was... More

I used to really like going here but my most recent visit was a nightmare. I was just starting a 4th drink over a 2 hour period when I was told by security I had been cut off - no reason. There had been no problem or even a hint of a problem up until then - it had been... More

A good choice for anyone looking for a decent and interesting beer in the city. About ten craft beers are served. Sadly no beer menu or descriptions but most staff will describe styles for you. Very noisy and bustling and unlike BeerDeluxe which is opposite you are actually inside

Having ordered a meal after what i would call a very ordinary menu we were very dissappointed with our soup all we could taste was pepper. After taking not more than a few spoons of that ,our main course arrived ,what i would say very poor timing.Far far to quick . Main course was almost the worst fish and chips... More

Staff Attitude The managers are stereotypical and too rude. They show the customers if they are interactive, they do not want to talk about product and they just... More

I’m not sure whether the proper name for this place is the Young and Jackson Hotel or the Princes Bridge Hotel (both are shown on the outside of the building), but whichever it is, it is reputed to be one of the oldest, if not the oldest, bar/hotel in Melbourne. The hotel concierge recommended this to us as I had... More

This hotel is very popular and so it was very busy. The waiter told us we would probably have a 45 minute wait for dinner. I thought this was helpful as if we had been in a hurry or very hungry we could have gone elsewhere. We ate in the Restaurant upstairs however bar food is available downstairs. The wait... More
