For tourists from overseas, this is a nice excursion for the day. For Australians and others who know what a real beach should be, spend the exra time and head for the surf coast. More

Love it here, though not for my usual beaching activities, more for socialising, people watching, an add on to the million other things to do in st kilda... Its nice to see the sea so close to the city... Check it out! More

A beautiful sea side suburb, close by tram from the CDB. Sunday has a fabulous market (mainly local crafts) Recommend the Phamish Cafe on the Esplanade. Had morning coffee there and liked it, so after returning to the CDB we later decided to go back for dinner- had a mouth watering very tender fillet steak! My wife had a Ceasar... More

Melbourne's answer to Bondi (not). Full of tourists, seagulls, and wind. If you like to be reminded of Blackpool, this is the place for you. More

When visiting St Kilda coffee and cake along Acland Street is a must, its many restaurants and its proximity to the entertainment areas along St Kilda beach which comes alive with the Sunday weekend market all make St Kilda a place to visit. The St Kilda beach is average as far as beaches go, during the summer months it is... More

great to see the culture when its a nice day, lots of people about and the St Kilda market is on early in the morning. Lots of places close by to grab a coffee and some cake. Beach is nice, but Melbourne has better to offer- the water can sometimes be a bit dirty and I wouldn't want to swim... More

Take the tram to St Kilda and stroll along the pier, and then stroll up the street and choose from a myriad of eating places. For an expensive but very nice food experience, try Goldfields. More

Wonderful place and we visit every time. Markets fantastic and lots of stalls. Beach lovely with seals and blue penguins easy to see on the rocks. Great cafe scene along the whole of the main street. A pleasure to spend all day there. More
