The Melbourne Aquarium is probably not on the "must do" list for Melbourne, but it's well worth a visit. There's a really good array of displays and the shark tank is pretty special. It's certainly not cheap, but you can see where the money has gone to build the displays. The new penguin exhibit is worth a look too. More

Fantastic aquarium with an amazing bowl area where you can sit and watch the fish, sharks, sting rays etc swim all around you. Avoid school holidays if you can, it gets super busy. The only down side is it's quite expensive and we got through it with a 4 year old in under 2 hours. More
