What a wonderful way to learn about a unique aspect of Australian history. It is easy to see that the Female Factory will soon become a very important and popular site. Louisa's Walk was a fantastic way to "experience" the convict story of women sent from the UK. The highlight of our Tasmania holiday. Thank you

Let your imagination follow Louisa and her difficult life's story. Walk through history and grow in appreciation for how tough these women had to be to survive their journey. Wear good walking shoes and weather-ready layers for an enjoyable adventure.

This is just a wonderful learning experience for the whole family. Gripping, engaging and so sad. Take a hanky - you'll need it. Wear comfortable walking shoes and take a jacket - as it can get cool in South Hobart.

This is a terrific way to visit the Female Factory in Hobart. Tickets may be purchased at the Tourist Information Center near the harbour in Hobart. Those taking the walk meet near the Cascade Brewery. The actor playing Louisa welcomed us and began her story as we walked from the Brewery grounds, through a park and to the Female Factory... More

Liked the actors knowledge of the history/area. Liked that the starting point was at the Cascade Brewery (good, easy location). Liked that it was interactive. Did involve a fair bit of walking which was difficult for one of our friends (involved climbing some stairs). Would have liked to have been told this when enquiring for booking. It did linger on... Came to Hobart with my parents as they came over to visit me from overseas. What a gorgeous city and I could never have imagined a world so unique just an hour's flight from Melbourne. Looked up on trip advisor what the local attractions were and Louisa's Walk stood out. It was really a no brainer based on the number and... More

We altered travel arrangements to do this walk and were not disappointed. Be prepared to interact, and to be moved as you gain knowledge of Tasmanian history.

We really enjoyed this tour. You walk around with the two actors and they jump into different characters to tell the story of a woman convict (based on a real person). The beginning of the tour walks you through the picnic park near the Cascade Brewery and you use your imagination to create the scenes - it leads to the... More

The best way to have history come to life! The kids, as well as the adults, were enthralled being taken back to the time of transportation and the Female Factory (prison). You not only listen to the story as you walk around, but are included in the story with the actors noting our names at the beginning of the tour... More
