The beach runs all along the front with lovely views for a stroll to the nearby cafe strip. We were looking for lunch and ended up getting some delicious burgers from a small shop... More

There's nothing special there really so not sure why you'd want to visit as a tourist..... it seems to have a reputation for nice cafes but I can't say I've ever found one that was anything special. More

Was told that this was "the place to be" on a Saturday night but was highly disappointed. Lacked life and atmosphere even at the Casino. No late night cafes or bars that we could see. More

You have got to love those macmansions clinging to the side of Mount Nelson - looks like Costa del Sol on a cloudy day. The only redeeming feature these days is... More

This is sort of like Chapel St crossed with the Gold Coast, it's kind of the Toorak of Hobart and so is a combination of that with a summery, breezy beachside feel, even though you can't even see the beach from Sandy Bay Rd. It's a world away from Hobart ambience-wise, and yet it's so close geographically, more modern and... More

This is one of Hobarts ritziest burbs and boasts the location of the University of Tasmania. The style of housing ranges from Georgian to Victorian with great style, but also some glam new additions. The overall mix can be quite pleasing, with great views over the Derwent, a quiet beach walk and plenty of cute bars, bistros, pubs and other... More

Great location near the CBD and water, great for a walk. Can visit the casino and stroll near the water or enjoy a coffee over the water at the casino. Loved it. More
