Hartz Mountains National is situated above Geeveston ,south of Hobart. Before you decide to do any of the walks it is advisable to check with the parks centre in Geeveston, as they can give you an update on the current weather conditions before you access the park. The road to Hartz mountain is pretty rough ,but can be reached by an... More

This is a gorgeous national park with some smaller walks for young people or those without much time, or you can climb Hartz peak in about 3 hours for some brilliant views over the surrounding mountains and lakes. Bad weather comes in quickly in this are and you can soon find yourself surrounded by fog up the mountain so bring... More

Its pristine, beautiful and COLD!!! Kinda eerie too if the weather moves in. In winter, take many warm and waterproof layers if you don't want to die from exposure. More

You can easily see Federation Peak and a host of other iconic peaks. Best if you can... More

The drive will get dust on the car, but the scenery and walks are definitely worth it. More

Tasmania has some great forests and the Hartz is amongst the best. It is quite accessible, has some great walks and you can even drive thru a tree ... Some are that big. In fact one of the worlds tallest hardwood trees was measured in this forest. More

The Hartz Mountain National Park has a diverse range of walks and activities. There is the Keoghs Creek walk which is a short ten minute walk with nice views up and down the creek. From here it was a dirt road but it was in decent condition. Our first stop was Waratah Lookout. The lookout was a lovely spot with... More
