If it is a lovely day the walkl is fantastic, if it is a winters day it is still great the scenery changes that is all.
Scenic drive there to the National park which is a heritage area. There are short walks and lake Osbourne is magnificent site to see well worth the visit. There is an air walk to take if you dare.
I love Hartz Mountains, one of my favorite places in Tasmania. Lovely viewing platform (waratah lookout) short ten minute walk to Arve Falls, approx 20 mins to lake Osborne, easy walking and amazing sitting near the tarn lake. Lake Esperance is amazing takes 1.5 hours and the view is amazing on a fine day you can see Port Huon. It... More
Some really beautiful walks around this park - both long and short. Take a picnic lunch and drinks because there's nowhere at the park to buy food. Exquisite plantlife, babbling brooks, spectacular tarns and magnificent views.

Enjoy the lovely walk along the boardwalk through the wetlands with its beautiful plants and flowers. Passing lakes and on up to the peak for a great view of the area. Down below is another waterfall short walk. Beautiful area.
Took the short Arve Falls walk. Great views over the wilderness from it, and from the Waratah Lookout. There are Snow Gums and many interesting plants, and fish in the stream. The small falls were low in March. There is beautiful upland scenery something like Cradle Mountain. Visited Mar 2010.
The Hartz Mountain National Park drive takes about one and a half hours from Hobart. The turnoff is just past Geeveston. Note the last 8km is on an unsealed road. Follow the road untill the end where there is a sign in-book and toliet. Once finished if you still have some energy you can drive on and visit the Tahune... More
