There's not much for free these days so it was a delight to find the refuge just in time for feeding. We were introduced to the gorgeous kangaroos and were able to feed them some snacks before spending time with the latest arrival, a little 4 month old who's mum had been killed on the highway. It is always a... More

The gallery and orphanage provide for a good way to get out of the sun and take in some of the local art and wildlife. Although we didn't purchase any of the native art (due to space limitations), the gallery provided loads of options and opportunities for purchase. Dropping in just before feeding time is the best time to visit... More

Put some money in the tin and feed some Roo's. They even had a joey there, which got my wife oohing and ahhing. It's well worth ten minutes of your time.

This was our first stop in Coober, and not only was there art and opals, there was orphan kangaroo feeding time. We fell in love, had cuddles, and found out lots about 'roos in general. These people have BIG hearts, and do it all on donations and their own pockets. Please stop by and see them, they are really friendly... More

The care and concern they have for kangaroos is humbling. They take in baby kangaroos as young as a month when their mothers are killed on the road. They take the kangaroos to bed with them to feed them on the required schedule! They also support students by offering room and board in return for help with the kangaroo orphanage... More

Jo and Terry we absolutely wonderful people. We came here as part of a tour and because we were running late they were kind enough to wait to feed the kangaroos until we got there. And I'm thrilled. It was about 46 degrees in Coober Pedy that day so the kangas loved licking our salty hands when we arrived. How... More

Josephines is lacated on the main street in Cooper Pedy. We stopped to see the aboriginal art on display. Lots to look at and bought some. BUT what really blew us away was the kangaroo Orphanage they have. We were there at feeding time for the kangaroos and were able to meet these wonderful rescued animals. We also were able... More
