I loved how secluded this lake was, between sand dunes and forest! Fun for sandboarding, just check the water you head in before going! Barely any shade More

Lake Wabby is outside the main path and fairly far from everything else on the island. The yellow sand dunes are stunning and the walk from the car park is definetaly longer than the 1 km advertised on the signs. Cater for at least two hours to fully enjoy the round-trip walk (quite steep at times), the sand and the... More

Like stepping into the setting of a movie, with the rainforest to one side, the sand dune to the other and the green water of Lake Wabby between, it's breathtaking. More

Its quite a walk to this lake and at times strenuous, but I think anybody old or young should be able to manage, just remember to take plenty of water. The lake itself if dark green and full of catfish, and is lovely to cool off in after the walk. More

This lake can be reached by a 4WD and is well signposted. We drove to a point and walked about 30 mins each way (some sections are steep) to access the lake. The lake is completely surrounded by shifting sand and it was warm in Sep 2011. We laid by the lake and relaxed. The climb up the sand dunes... More

Lake Wabby is just a gorgeous sight, fringed by mounds of sand and eucalyptus trees. In the past, people used to bring boogie boards and skate the dunes straight into the water but that has been stopped due to people getting hurt. I would've been up to doing it though, being an adrenaline junkie and all that. The trip though... More
