The three of us went on the Geo tour and the Adventure tour. The Geo tour was very informative. Our guide Anne was knowlegable and enthusiastic. We saw many fossils. The adventure tour was just that... an adventure! Squeezing through small dark holes with only a small headlight is not my usual way of spending a weekend but our guide... More

Really enjoyed this cave trip. It was easy to do without the feeling of claustrophobia that sometimes haunts me in this kind of activity. The 'cathedral' was beautiful. The staff were helpful and knowledgeable. I'd only suggest that they learn to speak a little slower and more clearly with foreign visitors. We had a group of Germans go through the... More

The two hour small group Geo Tour was excellent, with sightings of ghost bats and bent wing bats and many fossils, including the chance to sift through the site and find your own. We stayed overnight in a very comfortable and spacious two bedroom unit and spotted several little wallabies and many bats around the cabin at night. It was... More

Capricorn Caves are about 30 km north of Rockhampton. Interesting guided tour for $27. The only annoying thing was the tourists that kept taking flash pictures in the face of other people trying to enjoy the tour. More

This was our second trip to these caves. We took friends from England this time. The tour was good as before but this time we had the extra treat of the summer solstice. My husband had his ticket burned by the staff using the sun coming through the light hole. He loved it. One of the better caves to visit. More

While it is classifed as caves it is above gound caves, different to what I have seen elsewhere. They are limestone formations and bats, but the cave is situated in a hill. It was still enjoyable, it is worth the experience. More

We have visited the caves previously and enjoyed the visit and wanted to experience some 'culture' in the cathedral cave. It was a perfect night and well organised, however we found the tiny wooden pews very crowded and cramped. I don't have any back problems but by intermission I was keen to get out of there as I was most... More

One-half hour drive north of Rockhampton you’ll find Capricorn Caves (www.capricorncaves.com.au). After reviewing their website, I thought this tour would be a fun, little side trip and add some variety to our drive up the east coast of Australia. Wow! Did I underestimate this one! What an adventure! We pre-booked the 2-hour “Adventure Caving” tour via email correspondence with Amanda... More
