Love going to the gardens and the free zoo. A large range of animals including being able to hold Koala's and I love the new Chimpanzee (or Gorilla?) enclosure. Gardens are well kept and are a great place to escape everyday life. More

We visited the free zoo and gardens and had a lovely cool walk. Gardens are very pleasant with many unusual plants and trees. Zoo is tiny but lovely for small children with not too much attention span required. Chimps, dingoes, koalas and aviary. There is also a lake with turtles which will come for bread which is fun also for... More

not the biggest zoo ..... but it's a charming place setin the gardens. As long as you're not expecting Taronga Park, then you'll enjoy your wander around the gardens and the zoo. More

We thought it was just another botanic garden but still dropped in anyways. Boy, were we glad we did! We especially enjoyed the aviary and for the first time, we saw cassowaries! Great place to just soak in fresh air and for a refreshing walk. More

We ducked in twice to the zoo while driving through town. It is not huge but it is well worth visiting during feeding time. The animals range from Chimpanzees and monkeys to native animals like wombats, koalas, kangaroos and an assortment of reptiles. If you go around 3 you can see the chimps eat yoghurt with a spoon and bowl.... More

Be aware that the Zoo is undergoing *major* renovation work at this point in time. A lot of the exhibits are closed, and the public areas are in a state of major decay, with overgrown sections and many trip hazards on the paths. I still rate this as 'not poor' because it is free to enter, and as such difficult... More
