If you are visiting the botanical gardens why not visit this area as well as it is across the road. A great exercise area too.

The gardens as a whole are magnificent. They are extensive and range from natural tropical habitat that you can easily walk through on boardwalks, large grassed open space dwarfed by huge trees where you can barbeque or kick a ball with the kids, or simply be in awe of the exotic flowers and plants in the botanical section of the... the botanicals are nice to walk around and the lakes are pleasant, however the amount of positive things i heard about them were undeserved- it is pretty similar to any other botanical garden, yet good because everything is within close distance, surprisingly.

Start from Greenslopes street. Explore the lakes. Immerse yourself into great scenery. Follow on to the boardwalk. Make sure to have enough time and top it off by crossing the street into the Botanical Gardens. Doing it this way makes it better the way you go. So much to see and such a nice place to relax. It is open... More

Amazing gardens, is not a huge area to walk around so is good for elderly or in a wheelchair. The variety of flowers and tropical plants is amazing. Has a cafe that is good for breakfast or lunch, just take the mozzie spray.

There are some beautiful bird life at the gardens and the board walk is quite nice also. It is good to be able to walk through to the botanic gardens. During wet season, this place is unfortunately a breeding ground for mosquitoes and there have been times we've planned picnics here but have had to leave because of them. We've... More

Rainforest boardwalk towards the Botanic Gardens can be a bit spooky at 8am in the morning but it is great to see the beautiful gardens across the road at the end of the walk. Great little cafe there too. Worth also looking at the new Visitors Centre and Tanks Arts Precinct next door.

Any garden is a good garden, but a massive botanical and natural garden full of Australian natives is a pleasure to behold. If you're expecting a manicured English garden you will be disappointed; This is gardening where the plants are not constrained but allowed to flourish in all their wild glory. If you're lucky or patient you can see al... More
