A little bias here being Catholic. Hard to know exactly which part of the complex we are talking about. There is small church / chapel which is probably one of the older buildings in Brisbane. Just magnificent. THe cathederal itself is large, but inviting. Sit there and get away from the ratrace for a while.

I love visiting old churches and places of worship of all religions. This Church is outstanding and so lovely just to sit in quietly and soak up the peacefulness of the place. Beautifully crafted, and though I am not a regular church goer by any means, I get a special feeling of inner satisfaction from visiting this one.

Though I am not a Catholic I am amazed at how ell it's community has redeveloped their place of worship in the centre of the city and it's a pleasure to just sit there and enjoy it's surroundings and tranquility

I recently visited both the large church and the smaller chapel when I was doing a course next door. Whilst I am not Catholic I was still quite moved by the little chapel and the amazing wooden statue or should I really say sculpture of Mary mcKillop it is nothing I have ever seen before. It is well worth seeing.... More

A very good place to worship, brilliant architecture. Located in the city centre this wonderful church adds character to the city whilst being an amazing place.

We stopped by St. Stephen's Cathedral during our stay in Brisbane. The church is very lovely and located fairly close to Queen St markets. We attended mass there that weekend, and the service was beautiful.

The main church is a fine structure, but the little chapel next door has a wonderful, mysterious atmosphere. And don't miss the incredible wooden statue that is semi-hidden. It is exuberantly carved from a tree and is wonderfully moving.

The peace and quiet in the midst of the busy city is wonderful, and the grounds are immaculately kept.

Recently I was in Brisbane and had a lot on my mind and felt down in the dumps and was passing St Stephens and decide to make a visit. Immediately on entering I felt a calming effect and after staying there for awhile the aura of the cathedral seemed to relax me and generally felt mentally relieved. Irrespective of your... More
