We live walking distance from the river and love to take advantage of the free ferries that run between North Quay (City) and Sydney St (New Farm). Especially at night when you can sit on the top deck and watch the city lights as you pass under the Story Bridge. Relaxing and a great way to see the city sights!

No doubt about it, Brisbane is one attractive city. Walking around town and the surrounding areas is a very easy way to kill some time. Always fun counting the Water Dragons too!

Brisbane for the visitor is made special by the river. This is our fourth time in the city and we would not feel our visit was complete without a trip on the river and a visit to South Bank. Buy a pre-paid "go" card from Translink, it works on trains, buses, ferries and the Citycat and is much better value... More

Great for commuting on City Cat ( Huge catamaran ferry) or for using it for sightseeing up and down the Brisbane River

Pick a sunny day & take the City Cat from Bulimba up to UQ & back...such a beautiful river & city. Stop off at the Regatta Hotel at Toowong for a leisurely lunch...or stop off at Southbank Parklands for a wander around

Brillant we paid $11.20 for 2 of us to do the 2 hour trip up and back the Brisbane River on the Government Ferry. It was excellent value and view. It was our first trip to Brisbane and we got a great introduction.

Cruise the river on a city cat or other boat and just go up and down. There is so much to see especially on a nice day.

There are definitely better things to do in Brisbane then see this river. But its good for public transport (that is generally quite expensive).

Our hotel was out by the airport, so we took the City Cat Ferries into town each day. So convenient (they're by each stop about every 20 minutes or less) and way better than facing the auto traffic and trying to find parking. You can sit inside or outside, the motion was fine each time we rode and the breeze... More
