Spent a weekend in a quiet peaceful relaxing resort. Reasonable value for money but with the opportunity to camp for a a much lesser cost in the National Park might not visit again. Good for one visit but there are alternatives.

I wouldn't really like to live on an island myself because there is a serious risk of king tide floods or tsunamis which seems to affect islands alot. I currently live on the Redcliffe peninsular and this time, I am not speaking of experience.

Until my recent visit here at Easter, I always thought it was 'too hard' to get to. I was overwhelmingly surprised at how organised the water taxi was...to the bus trip around.
Everything seemed to fall into place at the right times, and everyone is friendly. Easter was a peak time, but it did not feel over crowded.

Take your car on the ferry (Do not try and drive there regardless what your SatNav says). Great beaches, dog beaches and good surf. Rent a house for aweekend or make it a day trip.

It was economical and friendly. There were many activities for all to engage in. I had four young children and there were supervised and organised activities for all of them to do usally a couple of activities morning and a further two in the afternoon...we always intended to go back but life got in the way

Not sure if this was the place our boat tour moored at in 1997, but then it was very run down and in need of a great uplift. Who knows, maybe it's had that - it was a long time ago! This site states I visited in 2011, but it will not let me say I was there in 1997.
